Home Delivery

The Pompano Beach Post Office did not institute home delivery routes until 1953. Prior to that year, city residents had to go to the Post Office to pick up their mail.

There was one rural route that included not only outlining farms, but also the lightly-populated beach area.

By the early 1950s, the local population growth (including that on the beach) led to the creation of six home delivery routes.
